ABOUT THE ORGANISER/COLLEGE/UNIVERSITY 

Amity University Madhya Pradesh (AUMP) was established by the Ritnand Balved Education Foundation (RBEF) at Gwalior by the Madhya Pradesh Niji Vishwavidyalaya (Sthapna Avam Sanchalan) Adhiniyam – 2007 and Dwitiya Sanshodhan Adhiniyam (No. 27 of 2010) vide State Government Notification No. 7692-406 dated 30 Dec 2010, with the view to promote professional, industry-oriented education in the state of Madhya Pradesh. Amity University Madhya Pradesh, Gwalior, located on a sprawling campus of 102 acres of land opposite Gwalior Airport, imparts modern, practical, and research-oriented courses which lead to the development of professionals who are employable and industry-ready. This, in turn, drives the socio- economic upliftment of the region.

Amity Law School is a distinct microcosmic institution epitomising a composite multi-dimensional and multi- national amalgamation of students and faculty members. It is a legal institution of par excellence. It is a hub of legal studies. Since its inception in 2013, it has been growing by leaps and bounds. The law school is endowed with excellent faculty members and top-class infrastructure which is conducive for higher learnings. In addition, we have a rich print library with e- resources. The faculty members are drawn with diversified knowledge and experience.

We believe that learning does not end in the class room; windows have to be kept wide open to invite different perspectives and expertise from diverse sources and practitioners. National and International Seminars, Conferences and Workshops are organised regularly. Model United Nations, Moot Court Competitions, Debates, Group Discussions, Client Counselling Competitions are regular features at Amity Law School. Our aim is to equip students with skills necessary for providing good governance in a democratic setup and outshine in all aspects of life.

DETAILS ABOUT THE EVENT/OPPORTUNITY 

The National Youth Parliament (NYP) 2025 “British parliamentary debate format” organized by Amity Law School, Amity University Madhya Pradesh, will be conducted in an online mode via Zoom to ensure seamless participation from students across the nation and internationally.

1. Platform & Technical Setup

The event will take place on Zoom, ensuring accessibility and ease of participation.

Participants will receive Zoom links and credentials via their registered emails before the event.

A WhatsApp group will be created for smooth communication and real-time updates.

Participants must join the meeting at least 30 minutes before the scheduled time for technical checks.

2. Committee Sessions & Parliamentary Procedures

Each agenda will be discussed in a structured parliamentary format, mimicking real legislative debates. The proceedings will be divided into four sessions over two days:

Day 1 (April 29th, 2025)

✅ Session I & II – Opening & Initial Deliberations

Roll Call – Attendance verification of all participants.

Opening Statements – Each team presents their stance on the topic.

First Round of Debate – Proposition & Opposition sides argue their points.

Moderated Discussion – Participants interact and counter each other’s arguments.

Day 2 (April 30th, 2025)

✅ Session III & IV – In-depth Discussion & Final Debate

Critical Analysis – Deeper discussions on key aspects of the agenda.

Unmoderated Discussion – Free discussion among participants for negotiations.

Drafting of Resolutions – Conclusion statements and proposals.

Final Round of Debate – Summing up arguments before voting.

Voting Process – Participants vote on the resolutions proposed.

Closing Ceremony – Announcing winners and distribution of awards.

3. Debate Rules & Structure

Speech Order:

1. First Proposition Speaker

2. First Opposition Speaker

3. Second Proposition Speaker

4. Second Opposition Speaker

5. Opposition Rebuttal

6. Proposition Rebuttal

Participants must adhere to the parliamentary code of conduct, maintaining decorum and professionalism.

Time limits will be enforced strictly for each speech.

Any participant violating rules or showing misconduct will be muted or disqualified.

4. Evaluation Criteria & Judging

A panel of legal and parliamentary experts will evaluate participants based on:

✅ Content & Relevance – Quality of arguments and factual accuracy.

✅ Presentation & Clarity – Speaking style, fluency, and persuasiveness.

✅ Logical Reasoning – Strength of rebuttals and counterarguments.

✅ Team Coordination – Effective collaboration within teams.

✅ Engagement & Responsiveness – Ability to answer and engage in discussions.

5. Award Distribution & Recognition

At the end of the event, winners will be declared based on cumulative scores from all sessions.

🏆 Top 3 teams will receive certificates, cash prizes, and trophies.

🏅 Special awards will be given for:

Best Leader

Best Parliamentarian

6. Post-Event Follow-up

Certificates of Participation will be emailed to all attendees.

Winning teams’ details and highlights will be shared on official Amity platforms.

WHO IS IT FOR / ELIGIBILITY TO PARTICIPATE

A Bonafide, full-time student, who is enrolled in a degree programme in any College/ University/ Institution, can register for the event.

A school student in any school from 6th Grade onwards, can participate in the event.
