Details About the Event / Opportunity
The Centre for Law & Urban Development, National Law University Delhi, is organising the 4th National Seminar on Affordable Housing: SDG 11 (2027) on 20–21 February 2027.
Affordable housing is a fundamental component of an inclusive society. With rapid urbanisation and rising housing costs, access to affordable housing has emerged as a significant policy concern in India. The seminar seeks to examine the legal, policy and institutional frameworks governing affordable housing while connecting these issues with Sustainable Development Goal 11 (SDG 11), which focuses on making cities and communities inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable.
The seminar will explore the role of legal and regulatory reforms, housing finance, urban planning, land governance and infrastructure in promoting inclusive urban growth. It will also examine the impact of technology, artificial intelligence and innovation on the future of affordable housing.
Further discussions will address climate resilience, disaster-responsive planning, gender equity, housing rights, governance, social justice, public transport and urban accessibility.
The seminar aims to bring together academicians, researchers, practitioners, policymakers and industry stakeholders to encourage interdisciplinary dialogue, promote innovative research and generate policy recommendations for sustainable urban development.
