Photographer job description

To assist the organisation in the development of a photographic library of positive images of disabled people that can be used to enhance publicity materials and the website. The images can further be sold to other organisations that need images of disabled people to support their message. Photographers would need their own equipment and be happy for Compass Disability Services to use the images to further the aims of the organisation. Intellectual copyright will be retained by Compass Disability Services.

Photographer Responsibilities

• Operates and maintains a wide range of camera equipment regularly employing the use of diverse techniques and specialized photographic expertise such as photomicrography, macrophotography, medical photography, etc., to photograph difficult material such as very large/small objects, deteriorating material, remote or unusually placed objects, light sensitive material, shining surfaces, etc.
• Plans the composition of the photograph, analyzing the subject material and selecting the angle, lighting, and background to enhance desired or to eliminate unwanted features to produce the most aesthetically effective and informative photograph.
• Modifies standard or develops new laboratory techniques and procedures to meet general and/or unusual end-result requirements such as reducing/enlarging to specified scale for precise mathematical computations, attaining color balance, vignette, montage, etc.
• Provides technical assistance and advice on photographic equipment and techniques to
• faculty, researchers, administrators, students, and non-University personnel.
• Organizes and schedules photographic laboratory activities assignments.
• Assists with planning functions such as laboratory space requirements and recommends major photographic equipment purchases.
• May oversee the work of other support staff.
• May operate a motion picture camera and assist in cinematography projects.
• Performs related job duties as required.

Requirements

• Have experience editing with Adobe Premiere Pro or (Final Cut Pro) and Adobe Lightroom.
• Have experience capturing memories through video and still pictures
• Own a camera and lens(es) capable of taking high-quality photos (including portraits, landscapes, and group shots)

• Own a computer and software that function well and are capable of editing photo/ video offline
• Willingness to accept critique
• Must be at least 18 years old
