What is AILET PG and Who Should Apply?

AILET PG is the entrance examination for NLU Delhi’s regular one-year LL.M. programme.

It is intended for law graduates seeking advanced legal education and research opportunities.

Candidates who have completed a recognised three-year or five-year LL.B. programme may apply, subject to eligibility requirements.

The programme may benefit graduates interested in legal research, policy analysis, academics and specialised legal practice.

However, an LL.M. degree does not automatically establish eligibility for any particular government appointment.

Candidates pursuing teaching or research careers must separately satisfy applicable recruitment and academic eligibility rules.

Difference Between AILET PG and CLAT PG

AILET PG and CLAT PG are separate postgraduate law entrance examinations.

How to Analyse AILET PG Papers

Attempt each paper under the prescribed 120-minute time limit.

AILET PG 2027 Preparation Strategy

An effective preparation strategy should combine conceptual understanding, legal revision and timed practice.

Revise Important Core Law Subjects

Candidates should systematically revise Constitutional Law, Jurisprudence and other foundational legal subjects.

However, no fixed subject-wise weightage has been prescribed.

Preparation should therefore remain balanced.

Study Landmark Judicial Decisions

Candidates should understand important judicial decisions through their facts, legal issues and holdings.

Reading only case names may not provide sufficient preparation.

The official Supreme Court e-SCR portal provides access to important judgments.

Read Updated Statutory Provisions

Candidates should use updated legislation rather than relying exclusively on old classroom notes.

The India Code portal provides access to central legislation.

Practise Objective Questions

Regular MCQ practice helps identify gaps in conceptual understanding.

Candidates should prioritise the reasoning behind the correct answer.

Attempt Full-Length Mock Examinations

The examination requires candidates to answer 100 questions within two hours.

Mock tests help improve speed, accuracy and question selection.

Every test should be followed by a detailed review.
