In a remarkable display of legal acumen, dedication, and courtroom confidence, Prathmesh Kumar, a third-year B.Com LL.B (Hons.) student from Dr. Shakuntala Misra National Rehabilitation University, Lucknow, has made his institution proud by securing the Winner title along with being adjudged the Best Mooter at the 4th Navodit Moot Court Competition, 2024.
The event, organized by Dr. Shakuntala Misra National Rehabilitation University, witnessed participation from several esteemed law institutions across the nation. As one of the prominent university-level competitions, it brought together some of the most promising young legal minds who competed in a series of rigorous rounds testing their research, drafting, and advocacy skills.
Prathmesh, along with his teammates Ayush Dwivedi (Speaker 2) and Akshay Tripathi (Researcher), showcased exceptional teamwork, composure, and analytical prowess throughout the competition. The case problem revolved around a contractual dispute involving a minor and property-related laws, demanding in-depth understanding of statutory provisions and judicial precedents. Prathmesh took the lead in both research and oral advocacy, demonstrating clarity of thought and command over legal principles, which ultimately impressed the judging panel.
Reflecting on his experience, Prathmesh shared,
“Participating in the Navodit Moot Court Competition was an unforgettable and intense experience. The atmosphere in the courtroom was charged with tension as every team presented strong and well-researched arguments. Our case required extensive research and sharp legal reasoning. I took the lead in both research and oral submissions, facing rigorous questioning from the judges. Ultimately, my efforts were rewarded as I was adjudged the Best Mooter and led my team to overall victory.”
The final rounds of the competition were judged by esteemed legal professionals, including Dr. A. D. Singh, who appreciated the participants for their legal reasoning and courtroom decorum.
