DETAILS ABOUT THE EVENT/OPPORTUNITY
TIPS is proud to announce the Client Counselling Competition, aimed at fostering practical legal skills and ethical client handling among law students. This prestigious event provides a platform for aspiring legal professionals to simulate real-world client interactions and develop expertise in counseling, problem-solving, and professional ethics.
The Client Counselling Competition is designed to assess participants’ ability to provide effective legal counsel to a client within a simulated, real-world setting. The competition’s primary focus is on demonstrating core legal practice skills such as communication, empathy, legal analysis, and the ability to offer clear, practical solutions. Participants will role-play as legal advisors tasked with managing a client’s legal problem, showcasing both their legal expertise and their interpersonal skills in a professional and supportive manner. The competition will feature a simulated client consultation, where each participant is given a brief containing essential information about the client’s background and the legal issue they are facing. The client’s concerns may span a variety of legal topics, such as family law, employment law, criminal law, or civil disputes. The scenario will present a mix of legal, emotional, and ethical complexities that participants will need to navigate with care.
WHO IS IT FOR / ELIGIBILITY TO PARTICIPATE
Each participant must be a current undergraduate law student (5-year or 3-year course) from their respective institution.
