St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata (SXUK) is a private university administered by the Jesuits and was established on 8 February 2017. Xavier Law School (XLS) was established in August 2019 by the Hon’ble Lokpal of India, Mr. Pinaki Chandra Ghosh. The School offers B.A. LL.B. (Hons.), B.Com. LL.B. (Hons.), LL.M. and Ph.D. programmes in Law. Its facilities include a Moot Court Hall, Legal Aid Clinic and Law Library.
DETAILS ABOUT THE EVENT/OPPORTUNITY
The Xavier Intra-Moot Court Competition’26 (XIMCC’26), formerly known as XavJudice, is the fourth edition of the Intra-XLS Moot Court Competition organised by the Moot Court Society, Xavier Law School, St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata.
The competition is designed to provide students with an environment that mirrors the demands of a real courtroom. Participants are expected to engage in legal research, formulation of legal arguments, memorial drafting, persuasive written submissions, oral advocacy and responses to judicial questioning.
According to the brochure, XIMCC’26 builds upon the competition’s previous editions beginning in 2023 and seeks to develop intellectual rigour, precision, confidence and courtroom reasoning among participating students.
The Moot Court Society has previously organised XavJudice in 2023, 2024 and 2025, as well as the XavAequitas national moot court competition in 2024 and other academic and mooting initiatives.
